En malttanut olla kokeilematta onneani jokin aika sitten ebaystä huutamieni Leicester-lampaan kiharoiden kanssa. Karstasin ne afroksi, josta saa ihanan helposti unelmanohutta lankaa! Valmis lanka muistuttaa mohairia. Ja tässä on pesusta huolimatta lampaanrasvaa tallella.
Pesen muuten aina ensin pelkällä haalealla vedellä pahimmat liat pois, ja kun vesi on keskipuhdasta, lurautan pari tippaa mietoa shampoota ja vaahdotan. Lopuksi tietenkin huuhtelu tasalämpöisellä vedellä.

I had to try my hand at the Leicester curls that I received from Gail in Alberta. I combed them into an afro, and found out how easily they spin into a lace weight yarn! I had washed the curls , first in plain water to soak out the dirt, and afterwards with some baby shampoo. They still have their natural lanolin, and it is a joy to spin! The yarn resembles mohair. I wonder what I could make out of it?
I have a pound of white - correction - I had a pound of white, but then I went ahead and dyed at least half of it into orange, red and olive for my paraolympics project. Should I ply it into thicker yarn, or keep it thin? And then, what could one best use it for? Does anyone know - is it itchy?
