Olen rakastunut. Uuden (sala)rakkaani nimi on herra Gonzales, lempinimeltään Speedy. Hän on tumma ja tulinen latino. Hola!

Speedyn omistaja toivoi villoista sukkalankaa. Päätin olla olematta turhantarkka roskien suhteen. Jospa jalkapohjia pistelevät vihneet antaisivat ennennäkemätöntä puhtia eläinten turkin hoitoon.
    Mitä, kamala, minäkö?

My new love is a dark and temperamental Latino with big, soft eyes, an edgy moustache and dark, curly hair. He likes a good roll in the hay once in a while, and that's why his coat is covered with VM. My new love's name is Mr. Gonzales, also known as Speedy. I visited him on a local alpaca farm. Unfortunately he and his mates are kept for breeding only, not for wool. Nevertheless the people had shorn him and some of the others last year, and I got two pounds of Speedy, and a pound of Lady Bella, who is a noble Suri.

I didn't know what to expect, woolwise. I still remember the itchy and hairy Peruvian alpaca sweaters of my youth (shudder). But no, Speedy was nothing like it. His wool is silky soft, airy and lightweight, and a pleasure to spin.
Unfortunately it's also full of dirt and VM. I got a lot of the veggies out by handcarding, and a great deal dribbled off when I spun it.
Hey, just a thought! The owner wants some Speedy Sock Yarn... I decided I am not going to go gaga over the VM in the yarn, but rather leave in what is not coming out voluntarily. I'm thinking there is nothing like a little poking at the soles to make you care for the coats better - or do I have it all wrong?
